In 1973/74 Lori was introduced to holistic medicine as a resident student at The International Academy for Continuous Education under the direction of J. G. Bennett, founder of the Institute for the Comparative Study of History, Philosophy and the Sciences. J.G. Bennett is considered to be one of the eminent founding fathers of holistic education in health, science, spirituality and, what is now called sustainable environmentalism.
After raising her family, Lori returned to her studies and qualified with a licentiate in acupuncture at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She then completed post graduate training in Five Elements, at the School of Five Element Acupuncture in London and in 2005, returned to gain a degree in Chinese Medicine from Portsmouth University. Lori also undertook a foundation training in cancer care for complementary practitioners.
Through her acupuncture practice, Lori recognized the value of sharing Five Element knowledge with those wanting to gain deeper insight into their own unique pattern of emotional and physiological health, and how this knowledge could be practically applied . Lori runs workshops for the general public and study groups for health professionals wanting to expand and hone their diagnostic skills through this unique approach.
“It is my belief that the benefits of acupuncture treatment and, taking a holistic approach to one’s life, help enhance a more positive response to ourselves, our world and its environment in the present and for the future.”
Having nine children herself, Lori has a special interest in family healthcare, support for mothers and for women going through menopause. She also specialises in Fertility Treatment with Acupunctre and by taking a detailed case history
