What are Hopi ear candles?
Thermo-auricular therapy was introduced to Europe from the Hopi Pueblo, a tribe of native North Americans. This ancient, spiritual people have a deep knowledge of medicinal plants and herbs.
The ear candles are made from natural ingredients, including beeswax, St Johns Wort, and chamomile. They are used to draw any impurities in the ear to the surface where they can be easily and gently removed.
What to expect
The treatment is safe and relaxing. You lie fully clothed comfortably on your side, with your ear pointing towards the ceiling. The practitioner gently places a lit candle into your ear canal, carefully placing a hand over your ear to prevent falling ash. You should find it a warm and comforting sensation. The session ends with an aromatherapy facial massage to help lymph circulation. A single treatment may prove to be sufficient.
